What's New

macOS Support

Relica 2.0 is now available for macOS! This release supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, bringing all the performance improvements and new features of Relica 2.0 to Mac users.

  • Apple Silicon native — Optimized for M1, M2, M3, and M4 chips
  • Intel support — Full compatibility with Intel-based Macs
  • Notarized — Signed and notarized by Apple for secure installation

Flexible Subscription Options

  • Monthly billing — New $7/month option for those who prefer flexibility
  • Annual billing — Still available at $60/year (best value)
  • Cancel anytime — Keep access until your paid period ends, reactivate if you change your mind

Always Access Your Data

We believe you should always be able to access your backups. Even if your subscription lapses, you can still restore your files. Only new backups require an active subscription.

Improved Security

  • Bot protection — Enhanced protection on signup
  • Magic link login — Passwordless access option
  • Better protection — Against automated attacks

Telemetry Opt-In

Help improve Relica by sharing anonymous usage data:

  • System info (OS, CPU, RAM) to optimize performance
  • Backup metrics to identify and fix issues faster
  • Your choice — easily enable/disable in Settings
  • Privacy first — we never collect file names, contents, or encryption keys

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed "Run Immediately" checkbox not triggering backup
  • Fixed registration issues for new users
  • Fixed "Update Card" button on billing page (now opens Stripe portal)
  • Fixed telemetry dialog display issues
  • Fixed backup source path edits not being saved properly
  • macOS users now correctly see available version
  • You can now name your backups during creation (no more generic "Backup" names)
  • Windows: Fixed backups failing with "Access Denied" for non-administrator users. You can now disable Volume Shadow Copy (VSS) per-backup if needed.

Platform Availability

  • Windows (64-bit) — Available now
  • macOS (Intel & Apple Silicon) — Available now
  • Linux (64-bit, ARM) — Available now
