Overview

Relica 2.0.2 is a critical bug fix release that addresses an encryption key handling issue, adds real-time backup progress via WebSocket, and includes several UI improvements.

Important: Action May Be Required

If you created backups before setting your encryption password and later saw errors like "message authentication failed" or "wrong password", those backups may need to be recreated:

  1. Open Relica and go to your backups list
  2. Delete any backups showing encryption errors
  3. Create new backups for those sources

Backups created after setting your encryption password are not affected.

What's New

Critical Fix: Encryption Key Handling

Fixed an issue where backups created before setting your encryption password could have corrupted metadata. If you experienced "message authentication failed" errors, this update resolves the root cause.

Real-Time Backup Progress

See live progress during your backups with WebSocket-powered updates:

  • Live percentage — Watch your backup progress in real-time
  • Files processed — See how many files have been backed up
  • Data transferred — Track bytes added to your backup
  • Current file — See which file is being processed

No more wondering if your backup is stuck — you'll always know exactly what's happening.

Server Improvements

Fixed an issue preventing new backup destinations from being properly initialized. Creating destinations is now more reliable.

Visual Polish

The edit destination screen has been updated to match the app's dark theme for a consistent experience across all screens.

Compatibility

Relica 2.0.2 is fully compatible with versions 2.0.1 and 2.0.0. No configuration changes are needed.

Upgrade Instructions

Relica will automatically notify you when 2.0.2 is available. To update manually, download the latest version from the downloads page and replace your existing installation.
